mediterranean dip

Staying true to our roots, we wanted the first recipe we share on our blog to be a dip with a twist. There are so many different ways to use hummus in your daily cooking, and we can’t wait to share some of our favourite ways to do so with you. We focused on curating a diverse range of crowd-pleasing, mostly plant-based recipes that we hope you’ll turn to often. Incorporating more vegetarian options into your diet helps keep you healthy and the planet happy – two things that are very important to us.

This Mediterranean Dip recipe celebrates the delicious produce we have in Manitoba during the summer, especially our Manitoba-grown tomatoes and cucumbers! Because of all the vegetables in the dip, this recipe is full of vitamins and minerals – never mind all the protein packed into the hummus. It makes a great healthy substitution for potato chips and dip, while still being as fast and easy to prepare. Even better? This dip travels really well, so it is ready to accompany you to picnics and backyard get-togethers this summer and beyond. Lastly, because it’s a plant-based snack, it’s better for the environment than meat-based alternatives.

There’s lots to love about our Mediterranean Dip!

We can’t wait to hear what you think! And, if you make this recipe, make sure you share it on Instagram and tag us @happydancehummus!

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Chop your tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and black olives up into small pieces.

  2. Scoop the Creamy Dill Happy Dance Hummus into a large bowl, filling it almost to the top.

  3. Drizzle the top with olive oil – but be careful not to add too much, it’s always easier to add more later if needed.

  4. Add your vegetables, dill, and feta to the bowl. We like to group the toppings on one side of the dip, but feel free to arrange it however you like.

  5. Gather all your dippables! This recipe is great with pita chips, pieces of naan, peppers, crackers, and taco chips – it’s hard to go wrong.

  6. Serve and enjoy, and be prepared to make a refill!
